Tasting Tuesday: The Fun of Fermentation

Join us as we welcome the yeast gurus of White Labs San Diego as well as our own brewers to understand the vital role yeast plays in your beer – from flavor and aroma, to body, alcohol content, and beyond.
We will taste through specialty beers created especially for this workshop, brewed from the same wort but fermented with different yeast strains for a side-by-side comparison of what flavors yeast imparts. You will learn from the experts at White Labs – those that your favorite brewers turn to for technical expertise – more than you thought you could about the miraculous single-celled organism responsible for magic of fermentation.
We will also sample a variety of beers brewed to a particular style to see how the Reuben’s Brews team brews with intention, selecting everything from malts, hops, and water profile to specific yeasts to craft the beer in your glass. You’ll have plenty of opportunity to pique your palate and learn to pick up the nuances of various beer styles.
