Thank You Thursdays program raises more than $7,000 for local non-profit organizations

SEATTLE, Wash. (Jan. 16, 2014) Reuben’s Brews is proud to announce that its Thank You Thursdays program has raised more than $7,000 for local non-profit organizations since it launched last May.

“We created Thank You Thursdays as a way to give back to the community,” says co-owner and head brewer Adam Robbings. “Everyone has been so supportive of us since we launched and we wanted to show our appreciation in return. It’s a great win-win – we can help the organization and give them the opportunity to showcase their work at the same time.”

Each Thursday, the brewery hosts a different non-profit organization and donates $1 from each pint, growler or set of three tasters sold that night in the taproom. Representatives from the organization are invited onsite to talk about their work and raise awareness of their cause. Thirsty beer lovers have been doing their part to make the program a success, too. For example, the Thank You Thursday donation to MEOW Cat Rescue will cover 20 spay/neuter surgeries for animals in their shelter, and Food Lifeline’s donation will help feed 1,170 people!

“It’s amazing to be the recipient of the generosity of Reuben’s Brews, and it’s a fun and different way to meet community members,” says Katie Rosapepe, Development Coordinator for Food Lifeline. “Here at Food Lifeline, we really value partnerships with our local communities and this was a great way reach some people who may not know who Food Lifeline is. ”

Other Thank You Thursday organizations have included Seattle Slam, Sustainable Ballard, Washington Wild, King County Sexual Assault Resource Center, Nana I Ke Kumu Pono Foundation, and Friends of CASA.

“If your organization has volunteers, staff, and/or supporters that enjoy great beer and the opportunity to hang out for an evening or part of an evening, it’s a super fun night,” says Joni Cervenka, Board President of MEOW Cat Rescue. “It’s a fun and easy fundraiser and a great way to get your organization’s services out there to new people.”

Spaces are still available for Thank You Thursdays in 2014. Here are the program details. Organizations must be a tax-designated charity or registered non-profit. If you have any questions or would like to sign up your organization, contact Adam Robbings at reubensbrews at gmail dot com.
