Practical Logistics to Consider For Your Private Event

Parking: Ballard wins. Street parking is easier, not perfect – but easier. Downtown has parking but it’s paid and congested, especially on game nights.

Transit: Downtown wins. Light rail, Sounder, buses, ferries all hit downtown directly. Ballard has the RapidRide D line and connects well, but takes a little more effort from some parts of the city.

Rideshare cost: if guests are Ubering from hotels, downtown is almost always cheaper — sometimes half the price. For large groups that adds up.

Surroundings: Downtown Seattle gives you Pike Place, the waterfront, sports venues, SAM, the Symphony, and dozens of restaurants within a few blocks. Meanwhile, Ballard gives you Ballard Ave, the Locks, Golden Gardens, the Farmers Market on Sundays, and an excellent concentration of neighborhood restaurants. Both are great for the ‘what do we do before or after’ question. Just different kinds of great.
