Celebrate Hazy Beers with Us in Ballard

Seattle Beer Week is back, and so is our annual Haze Fest. This Saturday, May 20th we’re dedicating two-thirds of our tap lines to hazy beers! Enjoy a day of fun music, great food, and of course hazy beer in our Taproom. No tickets necessary, and all ages are welcome.

Doors open at 11:00 a.m. and to minimize lines we’ll have two pouring stations for beer. Reuben’s Eats will be serving food out of the truck and we’ll also have a grill offering brats, franks, vegan dogs, and kids dogs all day. Plus, Pastry Boy will be popping up from 2 – 6:00 p.m. with s’mores cookies, oatmeal cream pies, coconut macaroons, and more.

Then, from 5 – 8:00 p.m. Map of the Woulds will perform two sets of live music to keep the party going. Surfacing from “the lawless fringes of the Seattle music scene,” this band combines angular rock, dark jazz, and goofball funk to create melodies that will make you think, dance, and think about dancing. 

This year features a strong lineup with 16 of our haziest beers. Expect some everyday favorites like Hazealicious and Crushable, several new releases like the next beer in our Alpenglow series, and fun infusions like Cinnamon Toast Crush, a hazy IPA made with cinnamon cereal squares.

2023 Haze Fest Tap List: 

 

Alpenglow: Talus Edition – This hazy IPA series evolved from our Reuben’s Crush beers, with the same selection of malts and a different hop variety that is featured in the dry hop. 

Cinnamon Toast Crush – We added Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal to our fruity PNW Crush for a deliciously different twist on IPA.

Citra Wit – This Belgian-style Witbier refreshes your palate and quenches your thirst. Hazy and smooth with a hint of coriander spice and big notes of citrus from Citra hops.

Reuben’s Crushable – An approachable, bright, and hazy pale ale that lives up to its name: easy drinking yet completely juicy with lush tropical fruit aromas.

Dream Team – A collaboration between Reuben’s Brews, Great Notion, and Fort George. Dream Team packs grapefruit, passionfruit, white wine, and stone fruit flavor across a very soft, very light, and pillowy hazy IPA. 

Farm Team Volume 2 – Brewed to highlight the unique terroir of our region, Farm Team is a collaboration series between Reuben’s Brews, PCC Community Markets, and the great farmers of the Pacific Northwest. 

Hazealicious – The tropical fruit notes, in particular passion fruit, that sit on a soft and pillowy body earned this beer a gold medal at the 2022 World Beer Cup. Restrained bitterness provides balance.

Haze Squared – This amped up version of Hazealicious offers even more intense notes of juicy passionfruit and ripe mango with a heavier addition of incredible Pacific Northwest hops.

Heart of the Wood – Traditionally brewed in the fall, this fresh hop IPA ages in oak over the following summer when Brettanomyces or “British fungus” causes it to referment in the barrel.

Pineapple Coconut Dreams – A more tropical take on our Dream Team IPA, this infusion adds pineapple and coconut to the mix.

PNW Crush – Brewed entirely with Pacific Northwest ingredients, this hazy IPA is fruit-forward and full-flavored.

Puffs of Galaxy – A heavily hazy IPA featuring bold notes of peach, orange, and pine with a bitterness that lingers after the sip, balancing the sweeter fruit elements.

Puffs of Lavender – A truly experimental beer that combines dried lavender flowers with Puffs of Galaxy for an aromatic IPA unlike anything you’ve tried before.

Puffs of POG – One sip of this lush, hazy IPA infused with Pineapple, Orange, and Guava will transport your taste buds to the Hawaiian Islands.

Tour de Ballard – Refreshing, sweet, citrusy, and a little tart, this grapefruit radler has it all and keeps the alcohol low for sessionability.

Zombie Glow – The addition of grapefruit juice, lime juice, grenadine, cinnamon, and barrel-aged bitters to our Alpenglow creates this tiki-inspired brew.
