2021 BBIS BARREL 7

BBIS Barrel 7 is a single-barrel selection of our bourbon barrel-aged imperial stout featuring oats and British specialty grains. This beer is exclusively released when exceptional single barrels present themselves during our annual BBIS blending. Enjoy this unique expression of our BBIS just as our brewers do.

Barrel #384 is the chosen barrel for this year’s Barrel 7 release, a 12yr Heaven Hill bourbon barrel. The base beer was brewed in January 2020 before going in to barrel 384 in February 2020. After 18 months in this special barrel, this BBIS Barrel 7 was bottled in October 2021.

Limit of 1 bottle per person.

2021 BBIS DOUBLE BARREL:

Beginning with the 2021 vintage BBIS imperial stout we age the beer a second time in fresh bourbon barrels. 2021 BBIS (Bourbon Barrel Imperial Stout) is a blend of imperial stout aged 12-, 18-, and 24-months in Heaven Hills barrels that previously held bourbon for 7 to 12 years. This year’s blend contains more than 60% of 18 month-aged barrels, making this one of the longest-aged BBIS releases yet. The older barrels in this blend lend extra notes of vanilla and bakers chocolate to the decadent milk chocolate, coffee, and licorice notes common to all BBIS releases.

A nose of rich and decadent vanilla and oak. Body is full of warming bourbon spice, with a honey sweetness and dry finish. The second barrel treatment ups the barrel flavors of vanilla and oak, as well as raising the final ABV to 16%.

Limit of 4 bottles per person.
