Opening our new taproom in downtown Seattle was a big undertaking, and naturally we wanted to celebrate this milestone. To no-one’s surprise, our first idea was brewing a beer. And who better to brew it with than our friends and now two time neighbors at Old Stove?
Given our mutual fondness for lagers and their suitability for the summer months, we chose to brew one with several different hop varieties from Germany. Crafted with Pilsner malt and white wheat, Keller Connection is an unfiltered, German-style kellerbier that is crisp and semi-dry with soft notes of tree fruit, fresh cut hay, and doughy biscuits. It’s the kind of beer that makes you want to sit and drink a few among friends.
During the brew day, as we were talking about the high drinkability of the beer we designed together, we decided it would be fun to encourage a taproom crawl between all of our neighboring locations. Because we both believe that beer is about connections, and we thought at least a few people would be up for a little challenge.
So here’s the deal: We want you to visit both of our downtown spaces and both of our Ballard spaces by Friday, August 1st. Hopefully you’ll enjoy a Keller Connection at each spot. But no pressure—we’ll be happy just to see you there. And either way, if you snap a photo at each stop and email it to contact@reubensbrews.com with your name and address, you’ll be entered into a random drawing for some cool swag from both breweries.
There’s only one catch. We’d like you to photograph four specific things on this scavenger hunt of sorts: (1.) The indoor mural at Reuben’s Brews Downtown, (2.) the antique stove at Old Stove Pike Place, (3.) the red telephone box at Reuben’s Brews Ballard, and (4.) the outdoor mural at Old Stove Gardens. Happy hunting!
