Reuben’s Brews 9th Anniversary: Reuben’s & Friends Guest Taps

Our 9th Anniversary celebration is on Saturday, August 7th, 2021 and we’re very excited to share some special beers from some very good friends of ours! We will have the following ten beers on tap – while supplies last – during the event.

 1. Alvarado Street Nelson, Baby – 7% Hazy IPA

Juicy IPA with 100% insanely aromatic Nelson Sauvin hops from Freestyle Farms in New Zealand. Combined with Phantasm freeze dried sauvignon blanc grape skins and a bioengineered expressive yeast from Berkeley Yeast for a Thiol Turbo Boost! Thiols are natural compounds responsible for tropical flavors and aromas, and this process coaxes as much thiol activity as possible through fermentation.

2. Ecliptic BA Orange Giant – 13.8% Barrel-Aged Barleywine

Like the blazing giant stars that inspire it, Orange Giant is truly massive. Three malts and copious amounts of Chinook and Nugget hops impart a creamy malt profile and resin hop character to the beer. This barrel-aged version spent sixteen months sleeping in 12-year-old bourbon barrels, developing a strong bourbon profile with notes of vanilla, coconut, and oak.

3. Great Notion / Reuben’s Brews Double Cookie Dunk – 11% Imperial Stout

Double Cookie Dunk is an Imperial Stout with cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, vanilla, and ginger. Collaboration with Reuben’s Brews, released in March 2020.

4. Hair of the Dog Matt – 12% Strong Ale

Our Commemorative Ale, Matt is an American Strong aged in bourbon and apple eau-de-vie barrels. Aromas of apples and grapes are followed by alternating waves of smoke and honey.

5. Kings & Daughters Fill Your Cup – 5.3% Soft IPA

World premiere for Kings & Daughters, a new Oregon brewery. Full in flavor and aromatics, easy to drink, and backed up with a soft fluffy cloud like mouthfeel and moderate bitterness. Pineapple juice leads the way supported by tangerine and fresh hop aromas. I like to think of it as a modern take on IPAs, something you can drink plenty of while still getting a full complex flavor profile like that of bigger IPAs.

6. Ravenna Summertime Radness – 6.7% Hazy IPA

Whirlpool additions of Citra Lupo and Simcoe, and packed with Amarillo, Simcoe, Citra, and more Citra Lupo in the dry hop. Fruity notes on the nose, with more piney and floral flavors to go along with a dry mouthfeel.

7.  Single Hill Patio Paloma – 6.1% Cocktail-Inspired Sour

Soak up the sun with our newest cocktail-inspired sour. Based on the Paloma cocktail, this beer features tart grapefruit and lime, with a hint of sea salt and tequila to elevate your refreshment.

8. Stemma Jason’s Wait, What? – 6.5% Hazy IPA with Vanilla and Orange Peel

Wait, What? Hazy IPA was brewed with vanilla bean, orange peel, cryo pop, mosaic and lotus hops. Part of Stemma’s staff beer series, featuring owner Jason Harper.

9. Varietal Open Country – 5.2% Dry-hopped Pale Ale

This pale ale features a bright citrus & mango vibe thanks to special Cryo Hop blends. A clean yeast profile & smooth, dry finish make this an easy to enjoy refresher for beating the heat. Salud!

10. Wander Blueberry Wild Warehouse – 8% Chardonnay Barrel Aged Farmhouse Ale with Blueberries

This year’s fruited companion to our barrel aged Saison showcases local blueberries in all their glory. Deep purple with a rich oak profile flushed thoroughly with decadent macerated berries. The introduction of blueberries skin and all, and subsequent refermentation launch the 12-month wood aged Saison into a territory closer to wine. Effervescent with heavy tannins and slightly acidic–this one’s got layers to sip through so swirl it around and expose the deliciousness.
