Start Stout Season with an Annual Favorite
Believe it not, we’re releasing the 10th vintage of the beer that started our barrel-aging program this year. Bottles of the 2023 edition of BBIS (Bourbon Barrel Imperial Stout) go on sale Saturday, October 7th. Just like last year, we’re also offering a limited edition vertical box that includes three vintages of BBIS. And we’ll have three different versions of BBIS on tap too!
BBIS is brewed using the same oat-forward and British specialty malt recipe that we’ve followed since the original release in 2013. Over the years we’ve adjusted and enhanced it, introducing new techniques to produce an even bigger, richer, and silkier beer. Most of the barrels in this year’s blend have spent upwards of 18 months aging in 8- to 12-year-old bourbon barrels, with the addition of some younger BBIS to contribute to the complexity of this bold imperial stout.
Walk-up purchases of BBIS bottles will start when our Ballard Taproom opens at 11:00 a.m. Bottles and draft will also see limited distribution across the Pacific Northwest later this month. See you on Saturday!
